Paradisaea is a for-profit fanzine for the appreciation of Kaveh from Genshin Impact. The title is a genus of bird-of-paradise, Kaveh’s constellation, but also literally means “paradise” in Latin. Like the title suggests, we hope that this fanzine can be a “paradise” for all our fellow Kaveh lovers out there.

What is a zine?
A zine or a “fanzine/fan magazine” is a themed collection of works (writing, art, merch) made by fans for other fans.
Is this zine for profit or charity?
This zine is for profit.
What is the age requirement for applying for this zine?
Applicants must be 16 or older when applying.
Are AUs allowed for the zine piece?
Yes, AUs are allowed!
Can I post WIPs, stream, or sell the work I create for this zine?
Throughout the creation phase, contributors will not be allowed to reveal anything for the zine, including your own WIPs, outside of the zine server. Further instructions will be given on when WIPs and previews can be shared to help promote the zine closer to the pre-order period.Contributors will be able to post, sell and distribute their work as they see fit after the hold period towards the end of the project.
Will other characters be allowed in my piece?
Other characters will be allowed, but only platonically and the central character must of course be Kaveh.
How will contributors be compensated?
All profits will first go towards covering production. We will guarantee a free digital PDF and any copies of any digital merch. If profits allow, we will first aim to provide a free physical copy + shipping to contributors, then work towards a full bundle. Any remaining funds will be split among the whole team through Paypal*.Contributor copies will be prioritized over mod copies.Remaining funds will be split as follows:
❖ 3% per mod (18% total)
❖ 1% per promo artist (5% total w/ 5 planned artists)
❖ 77% equally amongst ~39 contributors ( around 2% each)*Paypal's age limit is 18+, if you are under 18 and are accepted, you may ask for a parent or guardian to accept the compensation on your behalf, accept merch for the same amount of compensation, or give up your compensation percentage.
PAGE ARTIST
Page Artists must submit links to 3 samples of what you believe is your best work. In addition to this, a portfolio of 5-10 works demonstrating the range of your skills will be required.
❖ At least one sample be related to Genshin Impact.
❖ Samples must include full backgrounds (not just solid color/gradients/graphic design).
❖ Your linked samples may be included as part of the portfolio.
❖ Works included in the portfolio must be complete (i.e. fully colored, no rough sketches or WIPs).
❖ Samples may include ships.
❖ Samples may not include NSFW content.
❖ You will be judged based on anatomy, color, composition, and consistency.
❖ Your portfolio must be submitted as a Google Drive link.
MERCH ARTIST
Merch Artists must submit links to 3 samples of what you believe are your best merch designs. In addition to this, a portfolio of your merch designs demonstrating the range of your skills will be required.
❖ At least one sample must be related to Genshin Impact.
❖ Sample and portfolio pieces should preferably match the type of merch art you plan to apply for (i.e. if you selected “prints”, you should include a piece of print art).
❖ If you are applying for metal bookmark ruler, please note that this includes cutouts, and thus having enamel pin or lineart samples will be helpful.
❖ If you are applying for the plushie keychain, please note that you will be asked to draw the plushie in 3D (front, back, and side). You do not need a plushie/doll sample in your portfolio
❖ Your linked samples may be included as part of the portfolio.
❖ Works included in the portfolio must be complete (i.e. fully colored, no rough sketches or WIPs).
❖ Photographs of produced merch that you have designed are welcome and appreciated. If you do not have physical samples, digital mock-ups are also accepted.
❖ You will be judged based on style, color, design, and consistency.
❖ Your portfolio must be submitted as a link (Google Drive, Artstation, DeviantArt). Please collect all your works into a single link. We cannot search through your Twitter media tab if it is filled with reaction GIFs.
WRITER
Writers must submit links to 3 samples of what you believe are your best works. Additionally, a portfolio of at least 2 other works will be required. Portfolio sizes should not exceed 6 works.
❖ At least one sample must be related to Genshin Impact. Kaveh samples, while not necessary, are welcome and appreciated.
❖ All works must be independently created. Collaborations with other writers are not allowed.
❖ All works submitted should be between 1,500 to 2,000 words. Completed one-shots are preferred, but excerpts are accepted as long as at least one sample is a complete, stand-alone work.
❖ All works may include ships.
❖ All works may not include NSFW content.
❖ Your 3 samples are to be submitted as individual Google Docs/AO3/FFN link. Wattpad links will not be considered.
❖ Twitter threadfics, Tumblr post fics, Instagram post fics, etc will not be considered.
❖ You will be judged based on your mastery of English, ability to bring characters and scenes to life, and ability to capture your audience’s attention.
❖ Your portfolio must be submitted as a Google Drive link. AO3, FFN, etc profiles will not be considered.
❖ Please ensure that anyone with the link can access your samples and portfolio. Failure to do so may affect your application.
